Mary Louise Newberry

Mary Louise Toots Newberry, 92, died Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at a Topeka hospital.  She was born May 6, 1915 in Fredonia, the daughter of Edman and Bertha Pierce Chapman.  She graduated from Fredonia High School.  She married Floyd H. Newberry on April 25, 1936 in Yates Center.  They lived for many years in Neodesha, and moved to Topeka in 1956.  Floyd Newberry died in 1988.  Mrs. Newberry was a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church.  She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Frances Ufheil, and a brother, Edman L. Chapman, Mission.  She was preceded in death by three siblings, Jackson Heber Chapman, Charles Irving Chapman and Merwyn Pierce Chapman.  She is also survived by three children, Suzie (Mrs. Don) Marker, Linda (Mrs. Lynn) McElroy, Georgetown, KY.; Patrick (Mrs. Rhonda) Newberry, died in 2001.  Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.  Mrs. Newberry willed her body for medical research.  Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 15, at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church.  Memorials may be made to an organization of the donors choice.
