Edward W. Pfannenstiel, 80, of Topeka passed away, Saturday, July 28, 2007 at St. Francis Medical Center.
Edward was a pressman at Adams Business Forms for thirty-three years before he retired in 1982.
He was born April 28, 1927 in Ness City the son of Nicholas and Lena Schiffelbein Pfannenstiel. Edward served in the United States Army during WW II. He enjoyed outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, and golfing.
Edward was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
He was married to Catherine M. Hermann on January 11, 1950 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She survives.
Other survivors include: two sons; Nicholas E. Pfannenstiel and his wife Lynette in Wisconsin and William T. Pfannenstiel and his wife Pam of Garland, TX; a daughter, Susan M. Pfannenstiel of Topeka, and a sister, Marion Desch of Topeka. Four grandchildren, Traci, Ryan, Jason and Renae and two great-grandchildren, Ryan and Hailey also survive.
Edward will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. today at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. A parish rosary will be prayed at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church and sent in care of the funeral home.
