Bartolo Munoz, 100, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2007 at McCrite Plaza. Mr. Munoz was employed at Skinner Nursery for ten years before he retired in 1985. Bartolo was born August 24, 1906 in Leon, GTO, Mexico the son of Raphael and Eduviges Munoz. He lived in Topeka since 1972. Mr. Munoz was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. He married Juana Hernandez in 1946 in Mexico. She preceded him in death on December 2, 1986. A son, Fidencil Munoz died in 1998. Survivors include four sons; Pedro Munoz in Mexico, Alfonso Munoz of Houston, Inocencio Munoz of Topeka and one daughter, Elvira Mireles of Topeka and a step son Gabriel Morales of Brownsville. Twenty grandchildren and many great grandchildren also survive. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Munoz will lie in state from 2:00 – 9:00 p.m. Sunday at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where a rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m.
