Naomi P. Kruger, 87, of Topeka, died July 13, 2007 in her home at Atria Hearthstone.
Naomi was born on June 5, 1920 near Dover, Kansas the daughter of Henry and Irene (Rafferty) Peterson. She graduated from Dover High School in 1938. From 1939 to 1945 she lived in Chicago. Naomi has resided in Topeka since 1956.
She was raised on a farm, later to be a homemaker and professionally employed. As an avid seamstress she made 25 quilts. She will be remembered as a loving matriarch, and as an independent decision maker who enjoyed working with numbers.
Naomi worked for the Topeka Air Force Depot from 1955 to 1961 and for the Social Security Administration from 1962 until her retirement in 1980.
She married Lyle W. Kruger on May 6, 1939 in St. Marys, Kansas. He predeceased her on April 23, 1993. Naomi is survived by a daughter, Pat (Zoe) Daniels of Sedona, Arizona; three sons, Ray Kruger of Ontario, California, Darrel Kruger of Indianapolis, Indiana and Dennis Kruger of Tigard, Oregon, nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Mrs. Kruger will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where a Parish Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Interment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
