Ellen R. Dreher, age 74, Topeka, passed away Monday, July 2, 2007 at her home.
She was born October 28, 1932 in Lebo the daughter of Charlie and Lula Woodward Noonan. Ellen graduated from Westphalia High School in 1952.
Ellen was a sales associate at Blaylock Drug Store for thirty years before she retired.
She enjoyed horseback riding, rodeos and was an ice cream lover.
She was a member of Mater Dei Parish, and served on the Auburn Housing Authority Board of Directors for eleven years.
Ellen married Marion E. Dreher on June 3, 1952 at Assumption Church. He preceded her in death on July 13, 2001. She was also preceded in death by; two daughters, Joyce Dreher in infancy and Diane Rosencrants on March 27, 2007; by a grandson Stephen Smith on April 18, 1992 and by a sister, Patricia Fish and a brother, Floyd Noonan.
She is survived by; a daughter, Cindy Hicks and her husband Don of Topeka, one sister, Betty Dieker and her husband, Wayne of Wichita; three brothers; Lawrence Noonan and his wife, Linda of Coolidge, AZ, Charlie Noonan and his wife Joyce of Scranton, and Joe Noonan and his wife Carolyn of Walnut Springs, TX. She was a loving grandma to her five grandchildren, Amy Bartholomew, Russell Smith, Renee Smith, Justin Hess, and Jamie Smith, and eleven great grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Mater Dei’s Assumption Church. Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. where a parish rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Heart of America Hospice and sent in care of the funeral home.
