Andy Pfeifer

Andrew J. “Andy” Pfeifer Jr., 71, of Topeka, died June 4, 2007 at a local hospital.  Mr. Pfeifer was born in Ellis, Kansas on December 23, 1935 the son of Andrew M. and Amelia “Molly” (Reidel) Pfeifer Sr.  He was a veteran of the United States Army. 

Andy was a graduate of Washburn University and received a B.A. degree in Business Administration.  He also attended Washburn Law School.  He retired as a Management Analyst for the Kansas Department of Human Resources in 1984 due to illness. 

He was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church. 

Andy married Wilma L. Short at Holy Name Catholic Church on February 24, 1968.  She survives him.  He is also survived by a sister, Mary Catherine Worley of Abilene, a niece Kathy Hagaman of Abilene, and two nephews, Dale Worley of Abilene and Dan Worley of Osborne. Kansas. 

Mr. Pfeifer will lie in state at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home after 2:00 p.m. on Thursday where his family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m.  A Parish Prayer Service will be held at 6:30 p.m.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Name Catholic Church.  Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery with military honors.
