Mary C. Briscoe

January 2, 1917 — May 15, 2007

Mary Catherine Briscoe, 90, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at her home.

 

Mrs. Briscoe was a secretary for John Morrell Company in Topeka and later was a secretary at the U.S. Naval Ammunition Depot in Crane IL.

 

She was born January 2, 1917 in Olpe, KS the daughter of Jacob L. and Josephine Krebeck Brown.  Mary graduated from St. Joseph Catholic High School in Olpe and attended Kansas State Teacher’s College in Emporia.  She had lived in Topeka since 1973 moving from Chicago, IL.

 

Mary was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Chapter FL of the P.E.O. and BNSF Old Timers.

 

She was married to Harry J. Briscoe on June 6, 1943 at Old Cathedral in St. Louis, MO, he survives.

 

Other survivors include; two sons, Harry J. Briscoe, Jr. of Kingwood, TX and David L. Briscoe of North Richland Hills, TX and a daughter, Molly Anne Briscoe of Riverside, CA.  Two grandchildren also survive.  A daughter, Mary K. Briscoe preceded in death on August 16, 1950.

 

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church.  Inurnment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church and sent in care of the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home.
