Marquis D. Brown

Marquis D. Brown, 17 of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at St. Francis Medical Center.

Marquis was a junior at Topeka High School where in participated in football and basketball.

He was born September 22, 1989 in Topeka the son of LaDon Brown and Jamilah McKnight.

Marquis attended Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church and

El Shaddai Church of God in Christ.

He is survived by: his mother, Jamilah McKnight and stepfather, Arthur Samuels; father, LaDon Brown; brothers, Dafonte and Atrayo Brown; sister, Shamia Brown; grandparents, Loretta Cusick, Linda Brown, Richard Wardel Brown, David Kingcannon and great grandmothers, Hazel Esquibel and Roxie Brown all of Topeka.  Aunts, uncles,  cousins, and friends also survive.  A great-grandfather Pablo Esquibel preceded him in death.

Services for Marquis will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Good News Church, 3819 SW Burlingame Rd.  Cremation will follow the service.  Marquis will lie in state from 11:00 a.m. Wednesday until the service hour at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Marquis Brown Memorial Fund and sent in care of the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home.
