William G. Rosebaugh

July 23, 1925 — April 15, 2007

William Glen "Bill" Rosebaugh, of Topeka, pased away Sunday morning, April 15, 2007 at Midland Hospice House.  He was 81.

Mr. Rosebaugh was born July 23, 1925 in Riley County near Waterville, the son of William Isaac and Vida Cammel Rosebaugh.  Glen graduated from Waterville High School in 1943.  He enlisted in the Navy in November 1943 and later transferred to the Navy Seabees.  He served in the Pacific Theater, his last assignment on Guam.

He married Margaret Elaine Tommer in Providence, Rhode Island on June a, 1944.  Following his tour of duty they made their home in Topeka where Glen worked for Goddyear Tire and Rubber Co. for thirty-nine years.  Glen, Margaret and their children, Judy and Kevin and sometimes relatives or friends, traveled every summer for vacation first by car and tent and then by trucker camper.  When the children were grown, the traveled by car, airplane and bus, sometimes alone and other times with friends.  They visited all the fifty states, Canadfa, Mexico and England.  In February of 2066 they had a very special winter trip with friends to Yellowstone National Park.

Mr. Rosebaugh loved dancing, woodworking, fishing and hunting.  He helped with sports and Scouts at Most Pure Heart of Mary School in the early years.

Glen was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Church, United Rubber Workers 307, Goodyear Retirees Club and was a lifetime member of Philip Billard Post 1650 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-one years; children Judy Ann Blair and husband Michael, Wichita and Kevin Isaac Rosebaugh and wife Palmel Sue Rosebaugh, Topeka; his brother, Ray of Beloit; his sister, Dorothy Ungeberg, Waterville; his grandchildren, Joshua, Jeffrey and Jennifer Rosebaugh' Brandon Bell, Paul and Melissa Tayman, and Xavier Sykes.

Preceding him in death were his parents, a brother-in-law, Lester Yungeberg and a sister-in-law, Lorraine Rosebaugh.

William Glen Rosebaugh wil lie in state after 3:00 p.m. this afternoon at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where a parish rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. and the family will receive friends until 8:00 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebratted Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Most Pure Heart of Mary Church.  Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. at the Riverside Cemetery at Waterrville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Most Pure Hear of Mary Church, Midland Hospice or the charity of the donor's choice and sent in care of the funeral home, 800 SW 6th, Topeka, 66603.
