Alice Hart, 94, of Topeka, passed away Friday afternoon, March 30, 2007 at Lexington Park. She was born in East St. Louis, Illinois on April 24, 1912. Alice became Miss St. Louis in 1929 and was later a model for Marshall Field and Company in Chicago. She married William M. Hart in Chicago on December 26, 1942 and later moved to Topeka. Mr. Hart preceded her in death October 27, 2003. Mrs. Hart and her husband were founding members of Most Pure Heart of Mary Church where she volunteered considerable time and was a member of the Altar Society and a Guardian of the Adoration Chapel. She also volunteered at K.N.I. and was a member of Daughters of Isabella Little Flower Circle #503. She was a loving and caring mother to her children, William Michael Hart, Jr. who survives in Topeka and her two daughters, Rosemary Hanrahan, living in Greene, New York and Elizabeth Adams in Paxico, Kansas. Alice was the proud grandmother of eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren who also survive. Alice Hart will be in repose after 2:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where a recitation of the rosary by the Daughters of Isabella at 4:00 will be followed by the parish at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Reverend Tom Aduri at 10:00 o’clock Wednesday morning at Most Pure Heart of Mary Church. Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
