Benjamin F. Foreman

Frank (Benjamin Franklin) Foreman, 85, died Friday, February 9, 2007 at his home.

He was born November 24, 1921 in Topeka, Kansas, son of Ben and Hazel Foreman.

A graduate of Topeka High School, Frank served in the Army Signal Corp during World War II and participated in the landing at Omaha Beach and the Battle of the Bulge.

He owned and operated a Phillip’s 66 Service Station at Sixth and Buchanan in Topeka for forty years. After retiring he volunteered as a driver at the Red Cross for many years. Frank was a member of Holy Name.

He was married to Mary Ann Writt, October 31, 1946. She died July 13, 2003.

Survivors include five daughters, Ann Dickhoff, Nancy Beier, Rosemary Foreman, Carol Foreman and Janet Leiker, all of Topeka; four grandchildren, Daniel Wilson, Ben Beier, Joseph Leiker and Jessica Leiker and one great-granddaughter, Addyson Wilson.

Also surviving is Barbara Hennemann, caregiver who faithfully cared for Frank and Mary Ann in their later years.

Mr. Foreman will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where the family will greet friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. The parish rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Name Church. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association or to the American Red Cross and sent in care of the funeral home, 800 West Sixth, Topeka 66603.
