Angela Ackerman

Angela Marie Ackerman, 36, of Topeka, KS died Friday, July 2, 2021 at Stormont-Vail Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born May 22, 1985 in Topeka the daughter of Art and Ann (Sutter) Meier.  She attended Holy Family Grade School and was a 2003 graduate of Hayden High School.  Angela was a Paraprofessional at Mater Dei Catholic School before starting as a Customer Service Trainer for Blue Cross and Blue Shield.

Angela married Brian Ackerman on October 24, 2020 in Topeka.  He survives.  Other survivors include a daughter, Charlee Howey, a son Miles Howey, her parents, Art and Ann Meier, four siblings, Tim Meier and his wife, Denise, Todd Meier and his wife, Debi, Lisa Heath, Cristina Fanning.  Her father and mother-in-law Larry and Nancy Ackerman along with several nieces and nephews also survive.

Her family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the church.  Burial will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial donations in Angela’s memory be made to Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, the funds will be designated for her children or to Cotton O’Neil Cancer Center sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6^th Avenue, Topeka, KS 66603.
