Ann J. Lambert, age 81, of Topeka, KS, passed away with her family by her side on Monday, August 30, 2021, in Topeka.
She was born the daughter of Casper P. Eakes, Sr. and Mary Ann (Kaberlein) Eakes on June 7, 1940, in Topeka.
Ann attended Sacred Heart Catholic School and was a 1958 graduate from Hayden Catholic High School. After attending Clarks Business School, she worked and retired as a Freight Claims Agent in 2000 after 41 years with the Santa Fe Railroad. In her younger years she was a long-time participant in the Santa Fe Women’s Club.
She married Forrest “Gale” Lambert in August of 1960 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Ann was a longtime member of Mater Dei Assumption Catholic Church and was a recent member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Ann enjoyed taking road trips and camping. She and Gale traveled the U.S. in the family RV, she especially loved trips to the beach and walks along the ocean. Ann enjoyed flower gardening, listening to Gospel music and Elvis Presley. Above all, Ann's greatest joy in life was being with her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and children. She had a heart of gold and is loved and cherished by many. Ann will be greatly missed and warmly remembered over many family campfires to come.
Survivors include her beloved husband, Gale Lambert; two daughters, Michele Smith and her husband Richard, Gayle Nold and Tim Nold; step-daughter, Janelle Lundin, her husband Mark and their children; four granddaughters, Lyndsey, Courtney, Emmeline & Elliot; four great-grandchildren, Chloe, Nico, Carlie & Eleonora; two great-great-grandchildren, Nyla and Journi; two sisters, Eileen Bohannon and Theresa Zotto; one brother, Louis Eakes.
Ann is preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Mary Ann Lambert and nine siblings.
Cremation has taken place.
Memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, from 9:30-10:30 A.M., followed by a parish rosary at 10:30 A.M., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 312 NE Freeman Ave., Topeka, KS 66616. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. Inurnment will take place at Mt. Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Topeka Rescue Mission, 600 N. Kansas Ave., Topeka, KS 66608 and/or to the church. Contributions can be mailed or left with the funeral home.
