Augustina M. "Augie" Tetuan

Augustina M. “Augie” Tetuan, 91, of Topeka, passed away on April 6, 2022, at Brewster Place surrounded by her family.

She was born in Topeka, Kansas on August 18, 1930, the daughter of Bicente and Concepcion (Monasterio) Tetuan.

Augie and her family owned and operated the Lucky 5 Restaurant and Tetuan Liquor Store. 

Augie enjoyed cooking, gardening, singing, and dancing.  She was a caregiver for her parents and was a surrogate mother to many.

She is survived by a sister Genevieve (Modesto) Vasquez, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.  Augie was preceded in death by her parents, Bicente and Concepcion Tetuan and ten siblings, Belen, Antonia, John, John II, Michael, Trinidad, Enrique, Vincent T. Jr., John M., and Rosalino Tetuan.

Augie will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Sunday, April 10^th, from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. where a rosary will be prayed at 5:00 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 11^th, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.  Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
