Barbara Jeanne Flory

Barbara Jeanne Flory, 90, of Topeka, passed away Friday, July 14, 2023, at her home.

She was born November 19, 1932, in Atchison, Kansas, the daughter of Henry C. Gellings and Anna M. Gellings.

Barbara grew up in Atchison and graduated from Mount St. Scholastica, an all-girls Catholic school.

Barbara retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company after 25 years of service. She later worked 10 years during legislative sessions for the State of Kansas.

Barbara married James Flory Jr., on June 28, 1958, at Most Pure Heart of Mary in Topeka. He survives.

Other survivors include three children, James (Jennifer) Flory III, Todd (Nancy) Flory, and Sheila Flory; and two grandchildren, Harry Flory and Ryan Flory.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Albert Gellings and Edward Gellings.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm for a memorial visitation at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30pm.
