Beverly “Bev” Jean Branson, 79, of Topeka, KS, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 28, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Bev was born on June 30, 1945, to John J. and Bertha M. (Piper) Cole. She was raised in the small community of Dunlap, KS, and graduated from Council Grove High School in 1963.
In her early years, Bev worked as a cosmetologist before moving to Dallas, TX, where she met and married Stanley Branson. Together, they had two children. She later dedicated her career to serving others, working for the Kansas Department of Revenue and Wolf Creek Nuclear Plant before ultimately finding fulfillment as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
Bev had a love for life’s simple joys. She found relaxation in reading, working on crossword puzzles, and crocheting beautiful pieces. She especially cherished time spent with family and friends, often gathered around a table playing cards - Rummy being her favorite. She also enjoyed trips to the casino, trying her luck at the penny slots and indulging in the buffet.
Though Bev’s passing is difficult, her family takes comfort in the care she received throughout the years and the precious time spent with her in her final days. She is now at peace, resting in the arms of the Lord.
Bev was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Keith Cole, Rosalee Lunsford, Everett Cole, Georgia Litke, Mary Gilbert, and an infant brother and sister.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Cindy Branson (Shaun Johnson), and her son, Mike Branson (Karen Lee). She was a proud grandmother to Austin Branson (JoAnna Hain), Chesney Woodall (Austin Woodall), Mikey Branson, and JoAnna Branson. She also leaves behind her sister, Darlene Ortiz (Benito Ortiz) and numerous nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her beloved fur babies - Riley, Fletcher, Teddy, and Enzo.
