Bonnie Sue Tesch

Bonnie Sue Tesch, 77, formerly from Westmoreland, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at her home in Topeka.

She was born December 27, 1946, in Marked Tree, Arkansas, to Raymond Williams and Sally Elizabeth Short Williams.

Bonnie enjoyed going to the casino, cooking and baking and always wanted to give you something to eat, camping, working, playing cards with her sister Betty, dancing, making clothes for her family, and gardening. She also liked to go thrift shopping, yard selling, and getting gifts for her family. 

She worked as a nurse assistant for over 11 years at Westy Care Home in Westmoreland, and before moving to Kansas, Bonnie worked as nurse assistant for several nursing homes in Arkansas.

Bonnie married Larry M. Tesch, Sr. on May 12, 1964, in Harrisburg, Arkansas. Larry passed away on September 16, 2022.

Survivors include her children, Becky Tesch Newton and husband Mark, Sr. of Hoyt, KS, Doyle Tesch and wife Barbara of Topeka, KS, Larry Tesch, Jr. and lifetime friend Sandra Retter of Topeka, KS, Sue Tesch Schmidt and husband Joe of Topeka, KS, Tina Tesch Newton and husband Mark, Jr. of Topeka, KS; 23 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; siblings Franklin Williams, Betty Hoglan, Kay Williams, Lucille Moreland, Jerry Williams, and Marilyn Keiffer.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and siblings, Alma Wilson, Mary Ann Karrow, June Huckabee, Lois Collett, Louise Raymond, Doris Exum, Raymond “Sonny” Williams, and James “Bud” Williams.

A funeral service will be held at 6pm, Friday, December 20, 2024, at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Ave. Topeka, KS 66603. Cremation will follow the service, and inurnment will take place at 5pm, May 12, 2025, at the White River Annex in Batesville, Arkansas.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Midland Care Connection Hospice, sent in care of the funeral home.
