Boyd Vernon Fetterolf, age 76, was born on September 9, 1945, in Grand Junction, CO and passed away on June 17, 2022, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka, KS.
Boyd was preceded in death by his husband of 45 years, Paul Morse, his parents, Ed and Lucille Fetterolf, who owned Eddie Lu’s and Fetterolf Men’s Wear for 36 years, which was located in downtown Farmington, NM, and his nephew-in-law, Kevin Jones.
Boyd worked alongside his parents and sister, Rhonda, in the family business for many years, before moving to Topeka. There he opened his own clothing store and then eventually sold this business and became risk management for the Topeka Housing Authority for many years.
He received his bachelor of science degree from the University of Denver. He then attended the University of Kansas, where he received his master’s degree in Communication.
Boyd was a talented musician, playing the piano at the age of five and then getting his first Baldwin Organ at the age of 10. His first professional playing job was obtained at the age of 14, playing dinner music at several local restaurants.
Another great joy was the love for his poodles, whom he considered his “kids.”
He is survived by his sister, Rhonda Lowery and her husband Fred; nieces, Camie Manley Jones, (children, Kaley and Carson Jones), Lisa Gann, (son, John Gann), Kimberly Gann Vogelsang-Beal and her husband Jess, (children, JJ Vogelsang and Féla Beal); great-grandniece, Nevaeh Real Bird; great-grandnephew, Rylen Ingle; sister-in-law, Cindy Miller and her daughter, Krista and her family. He also leaves behind many wonderful friends whom he loved dearly.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at Grace Episcopal Cathedral, 701 SW 8th Ave., Topeka, KS 66603. Entombment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery-Topeka.
