Briana Poff

Briana Poff, age 29, of Topeka, KS, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 16, 2021 in Topeka.

She was born the daughter of Conrad Poff and Janelle (Volle) Poff on May 26, 1991 in Atchison, KS.

Briana attended and graduated from Topeka High School in 2010.

Briana will be remembered for being a social butterfly. She would find the good in every person and always wore her heart on her sleeve. She loved to watch movies, collect dolphin and bear figurines. You could find her screaming at the tv and rooting for her beloved Kansas City Chiefs. Her greatest joy was being able to spend time with her family, especially playing with her nieces, nephews and her beloved fur baby, Carl. Being with and spending time with her loving life partner, Jorden Tetuan always made her smile and brought her great joy. She was the definition of a “fighter,” always defying the odds and spending life to the fullest when she understood life is very fragile. Everyone that knew Briana, knew she was such a badass and that is why she was given the name, “Sturgis.” She was a selfless, hardworking, intelligent young woman. We can find comfort that she is in a better place and in a place where she doesn’t have to put others above herself but be above all those she loves. Her memories will remain in our hearts forever.

Survivors include her mother and step-father, Janelle Poff and Dave Elliott; life-partner, Jorden Tetuan and their fur baby, Carl; brother, Matthew Volle; sisters, Ashley Poff (Chris), Melissa Boxx (Devin); additional siblings, Crystal Loomis, Amanda Poff and Benjamin Hutzler; nieces and nephews, Kirsten, Ada, Lilyanna, Evangeline, Zaci, Emma, Ayana, Daxin, Remington, Marvin, Jayden and Jeremy, Jr.; maternal aunts and uncles, Debbie Volle, Bill Volle (Sheila), Beth Fitzpatrick (Gary), Dan Volle (Deanna), Theresa Miller; paternal aunts and uncles, Bill Adams (Merry), Ed Poff, Annette Cranston (Scott), Scott Poff, Adrian Poff; paternal grandmother, Kathyrine Walter; life-partner, Jorden’s parents, Linda Weaver and Anna Marie Tetuan as well as a loving extended family that includes additional nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Briana was preceded in death by her father; maternal grandparents, Marvin and Patricia Volle; paternal aunts, Jennifer Walter and Dot Poff; and Briana’s brother-in-law, Phillip Snyder.

Visitation with viewing will be held on Friday, May 21, 2021, from 5-8:00 P.M., with a rosary at 7:30 P.M., at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M., on Saturday, May 22, at the funeral home.

Cremation will take place after the services and she will be laid to rest next to her maternal grandparents at the Saint Ann’s Cemetery in Effingham, KS at a later date.  

Memorial contributions can be made in Briana’s loving memory to Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses. Contributions can be mailed or left with the funeral home.
