Carolyn Ann Pfeifer, 74, of Topeka, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2025, at Topeka Presbyterian Manor.
Born on March 7, 1950, in McClave, Colorado, Carol was the second of seven children. She attended Hayden High School and pursued a career in nursing. Though she never married or had children, Carol’s life was filled with the love of family, friends and many beloved pets.
Carol dedicated 43 years of her professional life to Kansas Neurological Institute, where she was known for her compassion and dedication. In addition to her full-time job, she cared for people’s pets, reflecting her deep love for animals. Outside of work, Carol cherished spending time with her family and friends, whether it was going to the movies with her mom and sister or taking road trips with friends.
Affectionately known as “Auntie C,” Carol will be deeply missed by her five siblings, eighteen nieces and nephews, twenty-four great nieces and nephews, and four great-great nieces and nephews.
Carol is survived by her siblings, Erlene Pfeifer-Gifford, Eugene Pfeifer, Theresa (Jim) Sanders, Ray (Ginny) Pfeifer and Dennis (Denise) Pfeifer and sister-in-law Bobbie Pfeifer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Armella and Frank Pfeifer, her brother Tim Pfeifer, and her nephew, Jared Pfeifer.
A rosary will be prayed at 5:00 PM, followed by visitation until 7:00 PM, on Thursday, March 6, at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 7, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Topeka.
Inurnment will take place at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 8, at Mount Hope Cemetery in Topeka.
