Chad Leslie Bailey, 54, of Topeka, passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at his home.
He was born September 7, 1970, in Topeka, the son of Willis Reed Bailey and Lorna Lee McClelland Bailey.
Chad graduated from Washburn Rural High School in 1989 and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Washburn University.
He worked for over 30 years at BNSF Railway as a Payroll Services Clerk.
Chad loved doing activities with his children and spending time with his grandchildren. He had a passion for cars, motorcycles, music, weightlifting, and traveling.
He is survived by sons, Sheldon Bailey (Zoey) of Topeka, Peyton Bailey (Makayla) of Topeka, Logan Bailey of Topeka; bonus son, Jaxon Barkyoumb of Topeka; brother, Reginald Bailey (Veneva) of Topeka; sister, Uvonda Meinholdt (Scott) of Topeka; grandchildren, Damon Bailey of Topeka, Brynlee Bailey of Topeka; fiancé, Jennifer Ditch of Topeka; nephews, Derek Meinholdt (Candace) of Topeka, Jason Meinholdt (Robyn) of Topeka, Garrett Wall of Greensville, SC; nieces Candice Bailey of Topeka, Morgan Bailey of Topeka; friend and mom of Sheldon and Peyton, Kimberly Bailey of Topeka.
Chad was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Brad Bailey.
A visitation with the family will be 5:00pm-7:00pm, Sunday, December 15, at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:00am, Monday, December 16, at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, with interment following at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested for an education fund for his youngest son Logan. Checks should be made directly to Logan Bailey or Jennifer Ditch with “Education Fund” in the memo. These contributions may be sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Ave. Topeka, KS 66603.
