Charlotte A. Maendele, age 87, of Topeka, KS, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2020 at Legend at Capital Ridge in Topeka.
She was born the daughter of Charles W. and Rose M. (Pulsford) Reedy on November 19, 1932 in Hanover, KS. Charlotte graduated from Hanover High School in 1950.
On October 30, 1957, Charlotte married Jerry F. Maendele in Marysville, KS. Together, they shared 55 years of loving marriage before Jerry’s passing on July 31, 2013.
Charlotte was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She enjoyed bowling in her younger years, going to garage sales, crafting, playing bridge and going to the Casino. Above all, Charlotte loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include two sons, Mark A. Maendele, Robert “Bob” M. Maendele and his wife Dawn all of Topeka; two daughters, Pamela A. Matalone and her husband Dave Frick, Kris M. Tabon and her husband Dave all of Topeka; sister, Rose Marie Carlson; eight grandchildren, Shane, Jodie, Nick, Ashley, Jayson, Tyler, Heather & David; four great-grandchildren, James, Samantha, Mackenzie and Dacotah.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry F. Maendele; brother, Elvin J. Reedy; sister, Mary Scheetz.
She will lie in state after 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 4-7:00 P.M., with a Parish Rosary being prayed at 5:00 P.M. A Graveside Service with burial will be on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Topeka.
Memorial contributions can be made in Charlotte’s loving memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 and/or Sacred Heart/St. Joseph Parish. Contributions can be left or mailed to the funeral home.
