Cheryl Anne Cafferty, 59, of Topeka, passed away on August 29, 2021 surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born in Providence, Rhode Island on September 4, 1961 the daughter of William and Patricia (Canty) Cafferty.
Cheryl studied Administrative Assistant and Paralegal studies at the Platte County Community College in Rhode Island. She worked as an Administrative Assistant for the State of Kansas until she had to retire due to health issues.
She was a member of Mater Dei Holy Name Church and a former member of St. Joseph Church and was a very prayerful person. She enjoyed reading, music, dancing, cooking, and all types of arts and crafts. Cheryl especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by a son, James “Kansas” Cafferty of San Diego, California, a daughter Sara Cafferty (Adam Oblander) of Topeka, four grandchildren, Cameron Oblander, Jalen Patterson, Kian Cafferty and Cooper Cafferty, and eight siblings. She was preceded in death by a daughter Melinda Cafferty.
Cheryl was cremated. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Mater Dei Holy Name Catholic Church on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. A rosary will be prayed at 9:30 a.m. just prior to the mass.
Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Capper Foundation or the the ALS Foundation and sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66603.
