Constance “Connie” K. (Hefner) Blean, age 79, of Topeka, KS, passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at the Topeka Presbyterian Manor after a brief stay.
She was born the daughter of George J. Hefner, Sr., and Mary C. (Konrade) Hefner on March 8, 1943, in Topeka, KS.
Connie married James C. Blean at Holy Name Catholic Church, on October 28, 1968. Together, they shared 54 years of marriage. She was of the catholic faith. Connie loved gathering and going through all types of family photos. She could spend hours sorting through generational family photos, always making sure family and extended family had copies. She loved to collect dolls over the years. Connie was a proud wife, mom, grandmother, and sister, who took pride in raising her five children and babysitting for friends and family.
Survivors include her beloved husband of the home, James C. Blean; three sons, Frank Blean and his wife Beth, James B. Blean, and Craig Blean; two daughters, Darlene Stadler and her husband James, and Mary Blean; four grandchildren, Scott, Brodie, Jessica, and Jamie; three great-grandchildren, Jayde, Joslyn, and Beau. Other survivors include three brothers, George Hefner, Jr. and his wife Sheila, Robert Hefner and his wife Gail, and Eugene Hefner and his wife Cindy; one sister, Mary Kay Humerickhouse and her husband Robert.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Stephen Hefner.
Connie will lie in state after 2:00 P.M., at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, with family being present from 5-8:00 P.M., with a rosary at 5:30 P.M.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M., on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 227 SW Van Buren St., Topeka, KS 66603. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery-Topeka.
Memorial contributions can be made in Connie's memory to St. Joseph Catholic Church and/or Midland Hospice Care. Contributions can be mailed or left with the funeral home.
