Cora E. Kuepker, 86, of Lawrence, went to her heavenly home on November 8, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 16, 2018 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 2104 Bob Billings Parkway, Lawrence, KS. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, November 15, 2018 from 5-8 p.m. also at Immanuel.
Cora was born to Paul and Lydia (Thiemann) Poppitz on June 25, 1932, the fourth of five siblings. She was raised on a farm in Willow Springs, MO and later moved to Kansas City, Kansas. She met her true love Marcus Kuepker in the church choir, and they were married October 2, 1955. Together they raised twin daughters, Paula and Marcia. They moved to Lawrence in 1974.
Cora was an executive secretary for All Star Dairy, and later worked for KU. After retiring, she enjoyed volunteering as an usher at the Lied Center. She enjoyed square dancing, bridge clubs, church activities, and mostly taking care of Marc, her children, and grandchildren.
Cora is survived by her daughters, Paula O’Connor and Marcia Princivalli; grandchildren, Rachel (Duke) Andrews, Andrea Willems, Joel Carbaugh, Michelle (Derek) Albee, Ian, Asher, and Hope O’Connor, Chasity Princivalli, and great grandchildren; Isaak Torkelson, Addalyn Andrews, Lee and Jayce Andrews, Jasper Princivalli and Elisha Willems; sisters Viola Spradlin and Velora Hansen; brother David (Linda) Poppitz; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Marc, grandson Nicholas P. Willems, sister Alice Blandin, and her parents.
Memorials in her honor may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
