Courtney Ann Sumpter

Courtney Ann Sumpter, 31, of Topeka, KS passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2021.

She was born December 3, 1990, in Topeka the daughter of Jeff and Barb (Jennings) Sumpter.

Courtney was a 2009 graduate of Shawnee Heights High School.  After high school she attended Washburn University and eventually graduated cosmetology school in 2018.

Courtney is survived by her parents, Jeff and Barb Sumpter, a sister, Morgan Sumpter, her grandmothers, Mary Ann Jennings and Doris Sumpter. Two nephews, Jayden Tennant and Bryce Gordon along with several aunts, uncles and extended family also survive.

A memorial visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Friday, December 17, 2021, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 312 NE Freeman Avenue, Topeka.  Funeral service will be 11:00 am Saturday, December 18, 2021, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  Burial of her urn will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6^th Avenue, Topeka, KS 66603.
