Daniel Joseph Beavers

March 10, 1953 — December 9, 2024

Ozawkie

Daniel "Dan" Joseph Beavers, age 71, of Ozawkie, KS, passed away with his family by his side on Monday, December 9, 2024, at Restwell Home Plus in Oskaloosa.

He was born the son of Budd Beavers and Corene Ehrhart on March 10, 1953, in Topeka, KS. Dan graduated from Highland Park High School in 1971.

Shortly after high school, Dan started his 45 plus year career as a machine operator for the Topeka Capitol Journal. In his spare time, he loved bow hunting and was an active member of the Topeka Bowhunters Club, as well as a member of the Mayetta Masonic Lodge #393. Whether it was building something with his hands outside or spending time in his tree stand, Dan loved to be outdoors. For many years, he always looked forward to his Tuesday night beer crew, sharing tall tale stories, cracking jokes, trying to solve world problems, all while enjoying beers with his longtime friends and old classmates.

On July 31, 2004, Dan married his beloved wife, Debbi (Field) Markt in Dover, KS. Together, they shared 20 years of laughter, vacations, and adventures.

The world became a little dimmer with Dan’s passing. He will be remembered for his big smile, a silly joke and maybe a shenanigan or two. He never met a stranger, and he adored his family, especially his grandchildren. We take comfort for all the good times that were shared, and he is now free from his ailments from Lewy Body Dementia.

Survivors include his loving wife, Debbi Beavers; his son, Shane Beavers; his daughter, Stacey Beavers; two stepchildren, Adam Markt, and Hillary Schuman (Derek); as well as nine grandchildren. Other survivors include his brother, Ron Beavers (Gail); sister, Kenda Douglas (Pat Whitesell); brother, Mike Beavers (Alisha); brother, Pat Beavers (Cathy); sister, Susan Mirowski (Richard); stepmother, Liz Beavers; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. (noon) to 2:00 P.M., followed by a memorial service at 2:00 P.M., on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home. Private family inurnment will take place a later time at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Hoyt, KS.
