David “Dave” Butler, 59, of Topeka, unexpectedly passed away on June 1, 2022, at his home.
He was born on January 6, 1963, in Topeka, Kansas the son of Kenneth Dean and Ramona June (North) Butler. David was a 1981 graduate of Hayden High School and earned an Associate of Science in Radiologic Technology from Washburn University.
David worked for over 21 years as an X-Ray tech, CT tech, and Ultrasonographer at the Clay County Hospital in Clay Center, Kansas. He most recently worked as a corrections officer for the Shawnee County Department of Corrections.
David was a Kansas City Chiefs fan, and enjoyed playing the guitar and writing music, piloting airplanes, going to the casino, bowling, and fishing. He liked going on road trips and loved vintage cars, especially his 1957 Ford Fairlane.
Survivors include a brother, Brad Butler of Topeka; sister, Kathy Votaw and husband Joe of Topeka; nieces and nephews, Staci Ogle, Brent Ketter, Andy Butler, Brady Butler, Jessica Mowery, Austin Ogle, Ellery Ogle, Carson Ketter, Corbin Ketter, Scotlynn Butler, and Blake Butler.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services will be 10:00am, Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home. Inurnment will take place at 2:00pm Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at Sherman Cemetery in Morganville, Kansas.
