David “Alan” Crain, age 63, of Topeka, KS, passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at the Midland Hospice House.
Alan was born the son of David Benjamin and Janice Kay (Schneider) Crain on March 14, 1959. He was a 1977 graduate from Perry Lecompton High School. After high school, Alan served in the United States Navy. He was a longtime member of the American Veterans Motorcycle Club.
On March 15, 2013, he married Leona M. Sawyer in Topeka, KS. Together, they shared 9 years of marriage.
He worked for Hallmark Cards for ten plus years, Goodyear Tire for 20 plus years and was an OTR truck driver for over three years. In his spare time, Alan enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, fishing, and attending car and gun shows. Alan especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Leona Crain; sons, Ryan Crain, Matthew Tetuan, Tanner Tetuan (Stephanie), and Nathan Sawyer; daughters, Alicia North, Samantha Tetuan and Anna Sawyer; one brother, Bill Crain. Other survivors include several grandchildren and a nephew, Tyler Crain.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Steven Crain.
Cremation has taken place.
A graveside inurnment service with military honors will take place at 2:00 P.M., on Monday, September 19, 2022, at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Perry, KS.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Alan's memory to the Wounded Warrior Project. Contributions can be mailed or left with the funeral home.
