Diana K. Guilfoyle, age 74, of Topeka, KS, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Rossville Healthcare & Rehab.
She was born the daughter of the late William Maurice and Theresa Marie (Volz) Guilfoyle on February 22, 1949, in Garnett, KS.
Diana graduated in 1967 from Greeley High School in Greeley, KS. After high school, she continued her education at Johnson County Community College for nursing. She was a Registered Nurse specializing in psychiatric nursing care and retired after 30 plus years with the Topeka VA Medical Center.
In her spare time, Diana loved traveling around the world, playing card games with friends and family and spending time with her family. She was an avid animal lover, especially dogs. She had a kind, hearted soul and although she never had children, she treated all her nieces and nephews as her own.
Survivors include her brother, Kenneth (Monica) Guilfoyle; three sisters, Dorothy Ortiz, Brenda Guilfoyle, and Beth Dodd. Other survivors include her beloved nephews and nieces, Ryan (Careen) Geist, Eddie (Jill) Guilfoyle, Glenn Ortiz, Paul Ortiz, Keith Guilfoyle, Craig (Taryn) Guilfoyle, Josh Dodd, Megan (Chad) Lindsay-Ybarra, Kendra (Cory) Shivers, Jessica (Brett) Schrader, as well as 20 great-nieces, nephews and numerous friends.
Memorial visitation will be from 5-7:00 P.M., with a parish rosary at 5:30 P.M., on Friday, January 26, 2024, at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M., on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Mater Dei Holy Name Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery-Topeka.
Memorial contributions can be made in Diana’s memory to Helping Hands Human Society, 5720 SW 21st St., Topeka, KS 66604 and/or Alzheimer’s Association, 8001 Conser, Ste: 240, Overland Park, KS 66204. Contributions can be mailed or left with the funeral home.
