Dr. David Thomas Beckley, age 65, of Topeka, KS, passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at his home in Topeka, KS.
He was born the son of David Nelson and Maxine (Warren) Beckley on September 7, 1955 in Topeka, KS.
Dr. David Beckley was a 1973 graduate from Hayden Catholic High School. He went on to attend and graduate Suma Cum Laude in 1977 from Benedictine College in Atchison. From there, he went on to attend Logan University College of Chiropractic – and received his Doctorate of Chiropractic, graduating second in his class and Cum laude, in December of 1981.
Dr. David Beckley returned to Topeka and worked as a Chiropractor for Dr. Boehr’s clinic. In 1985, he started his own practice, Beckley Chiropractic Clinic. He ran a successful practice, helping many others to heal, and retired in 2012. His daughter, Dr. Amber Nicole Beckley Jensen now runs the practice. Dr. David Beckley was previously a member of the Kansas Chiropractic Association.
He loved to ski and travel with his family, listen to his favorite rock band - The Rolling Stones and was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan. Dr. David Beckley was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. He was passionate about his faith and being able to teach CCE classes. He was a gifted teacher and many have benefited from his knowledge.
Survivors include his son, David John Beckley; three daughters, Annie Pinto and her husband Jason, Dr. Amber Nicole Beckley Jensen and her husband Brendan, Danielle Raeann Anderson and her husband Jason; five grandchildren, Aleah Tobyne, Addison Pinto, Ava Pinto, Hunter Jensen & Asher Pinto; lifelong friend, Karen Beckley; brother, Brent Louis Beckley; three sisters, Marla Rae Drees, Carol Ann Gunckle and her husband Bob, Linda Kathleen Blanchette and a loving extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a son, Grant Thomas Beckley in 2000.
Dr. David Beckley bequeathed his body to the University of Kansas Willed Body Program to further medical research. This was his last gift to help others increase their knowledge.
A Rosary will be held at 4:30 P.M., at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Monday, July 26, 2021 with visitation to follow until 8:00 P.M.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 6, 2021 at 10:30 A.M., at Christ the King Catholic Church.
