Edward Patrick Dunagan, age 89, of Maple Hill, KS, passed away at his home one-day shy of his 90th birthday on Monday, August 3, 2020.
He was born in rural Maple Hill, KS on August 4, 1930 the son of Edward Jerome and Ellen A. (Rafferty) Dunagan.
Edward was a 1947 graduate from Dover High School as Valedictorian. After high school, Edward served his country with pride, in the United States Air Force. He retired from the United States Postal Service. He was a member of the Rossville American Legion Post No. 31. His true passion was farming and sports. He would follow all local, state wide and national sports especially, baseball. Edward and his two brothers farmed in the Wabaunsee and Shawnee Counties.
He is survived by his one brother, William T. Dunagan and his wife Mary of Maple Hill, KS; three nephews, Timothy, Daniel and Kevin Dunagan; one niece, Kathleen Reed and numerous great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jerome Dunagan who passed on March 8, 2013.
A public visitation with no family present will be held on Sunday, August 9, 2020 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home.
A private family service will be held for Edward. Burial with military honors will take place at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Donor’s choice in memory of Edward. Contributions can be left or mailed to the funeral home.
