Edward Daniel Stallbaumer, 84, of Topeka, passed away on September 5, 2021 at the University of Kansas Hospital, St. Francis Campus.
He was born in Seneca, Kansas on August 22, 1937 the son of Walter and Theresa (Fangman) Stallbaumer.
Edward was a 1956 graduate of St. Benedict High School.
He spent his working career at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company from 1959 until his retirement in 1996 as a Production Control Scheduler.
He was a member of Mother Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church. When they were members of the Assumption Catholic Church he served as a Eucharistic Minister and taught Marriage Prep classes with his wife. Ed enjoyed doing woodworking especially with oak and walnut and made rosaries. He enjoyed playing cards and was a vey social person who loved visiting with people. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Francis Hospital.
Ed married Arvilla Kay Gerstenkorn in Topeka, Kansas on August 12, 1967. She survives him. He is also survived by a son Mark (Cecilia) Stallbaumer of Olathe, a daughter Laura Stallbaumer of Overland Park, three grandchildren, Noah (Hope), Benjamin and Kaitlyn Stallbaumer, and his siblings, Blanche Haug of Abilene, Patrick Stallbaumer of Meriden, Joan Steinlage of Seneca, and Anna Marie Heistand of North Dakota. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Clarence, Jim and Kenneth Stallbaumer, and two sisters Edith Deters and Theresa Marie Stallbaumer.
He will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Sunday, September 12th, from 2-4:00 P.M. where a Rosary will be prayed at 3:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 13th, at 10:00 a.m. at Mother Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
