Edwina L. Craver-Hamersky

Edwina L. Craver-Hamersky, age 97, of Topeka, KS, passed away on Friday, May 27, 2022, at Aldersgate Village Assisted Living.

She was born the daughter of Victor and Grace (Linn) Kirk on April 25, 1925, in Prescott, Arizona.

Edwina married Jack Craver on September 2, 1955, in Topeka, KS. They had two sons, Jack Jr., and Kirk. Jack passed away on June 2, 1988, after 32 years of marriage. She then married Victor Hamersky on April 25, 1992, in Topeka, KS. Victor passed away on September 21, 2018, after 26 years of marriage.

Edwina was a devoted member of Faith Lutheran Church. She was a long-term member of the LWML (Lutheran Women’s Missionary League), Marian Circle and was a bookkeeper for the Topeka Lutheran School, retiring in 1992. In her earlier years, she had worked for Boeing, Hallmark Cards, Southwestern Bell and H&R Block. Edwina was past President of the Union for Southwestern Bell. She enjoyed attending car shows, dancing, playing card games and was known as a social butterfly. Edwina maintained an impeccable appearance, having her hair styled every week. Her faith, family, especially her grandchildren were most important to her.

Survivors include her son, Kirk L. Craver and his wife Jane of Topeka; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Craver of Topeka; five stepchildren and their families; six grandchildren, Nicole, Heather, Jackie, Eric, Kale and Keghan; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; brother, Edward Kirk; and her son, Jack E. Craver, Jr.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, from 10-11:00 A.M., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 A.M., at Faith Lutheran Church, 1716 SW Gage Blvd, Topeka, KS 66604. A private family burial will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Edwina's memory to Faith Lutheran Church. Contributions can be mailed or left with the funeral home.
