Eldin “Lee” Maynard, 89, of Topeka, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Oakley Place in Topeka.
He was born March 4, 1936, in Bend, Oregon, to Robert James Maynard and Grace (Queen) Maynard Caskey. Lee graduated from Vale High School, in Vale, Oregon.
After graduation, Lee enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he was stationed in Alaska and then at Forbes Air Force Base, in Topeka.
He married Janet Marie Meyer on January 11, 1959, in Aliceville, Kansas. She survives of the home.
Lee was a real estate investor by trade and enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles, and driving jeep trails. He was a talented jack of all trades and could fix just about anything. He was a member of the Field and Stream Club in Topeka for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Janet of 66 years; daughter, Denise Maynard of Shawnee, Kansas; brother, Mason Maynard and wife Wanda of Meridian, Idaho; and granddaughter, Tawny Maynard of Topeka.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jack Maynard, Richard Maynard, James Maynard, Kenneth Maynard, Raymond Maynard; and sister, Mickey Shaw.
The family will receive friends from 9:30am to 10:30am, with funeral services at 10:30am, Thursday, April 24, at Christ Lutheran Church. Interment will take place at 2:00pm, at Saint John Lutheran Cemetery, in Aliceville, Kansas.
