Elizabeth A. Beavers

Elizabeth A. Beavers, age 84, of Topeka, KS, passed away with her family by her side on Friday, March 28, 2025, at the Midland Hospice House.

She was born the daughter of Jennings M. and Beulah F. (Hurla) Curran on February 10, 1941, in Rossville, KS.

On September 25, 1964, Elizabeth married Budd H. Beavers in Miami, OK. Together, they shared 39 years of marriage before Budd’s passing on December 7, 2003. Her working career included 37 years as a Clerk with the Topeka Capitol Journal. Although she loved her job, her most beloved time were the years she spent as a stay-at-home mom.

Elizabeth enjoyed watching a variety of TV shows, movies, and spending time at the family cabin. She looked forward to sharing a margarita with her family and friends, and meeting with her lunch girls weekly brought her so much happiness. Her greatest joy was being with her family.

Survivors include her son, Pat Beavers (Cathy); daughter, Susan Mirowski (Richard); stepson, Ron Beavers (Gail); and stepdaughter, Kenda Douglas (Pat Whitesell). Other survivors include her beloved grandchildren, Mackenzie O’Brien (Kyle), Ryan Beavers, Shelby Bauman (Joey), Kennedy Bassett (Walker), Chase Mirowski, Rhiannon Beavers (Derrick); and four great-grandchildren. Elizabeth also leaves behind her four siblings, Rosemary Gosser, John Curran, Phil Curran (Linda), and Joyce Wilson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Budd H. Beavers; stepson, Daniel “Dan” Beavers; and six siblings.

A memorial visitation will be held from 5-8:00 P.M., with a rosary being prayed at 6:00 P.M., on Friday, April 4, 2025, at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M., on Saturday, April 5, at Mater Dei Assumption Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery in Big Springs, KS.

Memorial contributions can be made in Elizabeth's memory to Midland Hospice Care. Contributions can be mailed or sent to the funeral home.
