Eloisa Lopez, age 45, of Topeka, KS, passed away with her husband by her side at the Newman Regional Health Center in Emporia, KS on Thursday, September 16, 2021.
She was born the daughter of Ruben Ortiz and Joan Hernandez on December 14, 1975 in Topeka, KS.
She was currently employed with Hallmark Cards after 26 years, working on the production and packaging line.
Eloisa married Martin Lopez on May 29, 1999. Together, they shared 22 years of marriage. She was a dedicated member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Her faith was the upmost importance to her, and she enjoyed teaching CCD classes. Eloisa loved to cook, dance and cheer on the KU Jayhawks. She was an avid collector of purses, jewelry and shoes. Raising her young family with her husband Martin and spending time with family brought her the greatest joy.
Survivors include her beloved husband, Martin Lopez; two sons, Ruben and Martin Lopez; one daughter, Esperanza Lopez; father, Ruben Ortiz (Lucia), one brother, Julio Hernandez and his wife Crystal; six sisters, Michelle Gutierrez and her husband Rafael, Maria Estrada, Laura Ortiz, Rosanna Ortiz, Margarita Ortiz and Renata Ortiz. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Eloisa was preceded in death by her mother, Joan Hernandez.
She will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Monday, September 20, 2021 from 2-8:00 P.M., with a rosary at 6:30 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at 10:00 A.M., at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made in Eloisa’s memory to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Contributions can be mailed or left with the funeral home.
