Eulala "Kelly" M Herl, 91, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2020. She was born March 2, 1929 in Hunter, KS, the daughter of Robert and Anna Arens Baird. She graduated from Hunter High School and moved to Topeka in 1947. She married Robert "Bob" Herl on October 8, 1949 at the Assumption Church in Topeka. He preceded her in death in July 2011.
Kelly was employed as secretary for the Brotherhood of Railway Clerks for 15 years and later as an insurance clerk for the Employees' Benefit Association before her retirement in January 1989.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a member of the Altar Society. She loved gardening and was especially proud of her roses.
Survivors include her daughter, Connie Goodson (Dave), Ozawkie, two sons Steve Herl (Kelly Anne), Spring Hill and Cary Herl, Manhattan, three grandchildren, Brian Barnard, Las Vegas, NV, Cody Herl, Okinawa, Japan and Emily Herl, Kansas City, KS, three step-grandchildren, Jim Szymkowiak, Lawrence, KS, Christina Szymkowiak, Buffalo, NY and Tatum Skinner, Lexington, KY and one great grandson, Michael Barnard, Las Vegas, NV. She was the last of her three brothers and two sisters, Richard Baird, Gene Baird, Jerry Baird, Delores Henrikson and Marge Leathers.
Private graveside service will be held at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or to Helping Hands Humane Society, Topeka.
