Filiberto Jose Galvan

Filiberto Jose “Phillip” Galvan, 52, of Topeka, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 8, 2025. 

He was born August 11, 1972, in Topeka, the son of Artemio Galvan and Catalina Gallego Galvan.

Phillip grew up in North Topeka and attended Topeka High School. He could often be found working on his 1969 Chevelle and cruising the Boulevard.

He worked for many years as a manager at Steak ‘n Shake and later as an area manager for Taco Tico.

Phillip loved spending time with his family, attending NHRA drag racing events, fishing, traveling and taking vacations. He enjoyed watching movies and listening to many types of music, especially 80’s hair bands. 

He and Melodi Reffett had one child. He married Angela O’Neil and they had two children together. They later divorced. He met Kelly Mosher in March of 2012, and in August of 2024 they were married. She survives of the home.

Phillip is also survived by his children, Mark Galvan (Lorena Buono) of Topeka, Alejandro “Alex” Galvan of Topeka, Isabella Galvan of Topeka; his father, Artemio Galvan of Topeka; siblings, Alberto Galvan (Lupe) of Topeka, Israel Galvan (Teresa) of Topeka, Maria Galvan of Topeka; granddaughter, Natalia Buono; stepchildren, Khrysten Mosher of Topeka, Jose Estrada III (Iraiah) of Topeka, Julianna Estrada of Manhattan, and Angelina Estrada of Topeka; as well as 7 step grandsons.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 15, at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, with a rosary prayed at 3:00pm, and visitation from 3:30pm to 5:30pm. Cremation will take place after the visitation.
