Francis Clayton Adams, Sr.

Francis Clayton Adams, Sr., age 73, of Topeka, KS, passed away unexpectedly at his home, on Wednesday, February 2, 2022.

He was born the son of Clyde Morrow Adams, Sr., and Genevieve Louise (Carroll) on November 18, 1948, in Norwood, Massachusetts.

Francis served his country with pride in the United States Air Force. He was stationed at Forbes Air Force Base and while serving, he met Pattie “Pat” J. Plankinton. They married on July 10, 1971, at the First Assembly of God Church. Together, they shared 50 years of marriage.

He will be fondly remembered for his love of his family, sharing stories and always being an outgoing person. Francis was an avid animal lover and enjoyed attending the Fairlawn Nazarene Church in Topeka. In recent years, Francis and Pat would travel in their RV, exploring the states. Spending time with his children and grandchildren brought him the greatest joy.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Pat Adams; daughter, Tabatha Wootan and her husband Kevin; son, Francis “Frank” Adams, Jr.; daughter, Melissa Hart and her husband Garold; and daughter, Melinda McDaniel and her husband Chris; five grandchildren, Ariel and her fiancé Braiden, Aaron, Richard, Christien, and Chelsea; as well as one great-granddaughter, Hadley Mae.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Clyde Morrow Adams, Jr.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 11, 2022, from 9-10:00 A.M., followed by the funeral service at 10:00 A.M., at the Fairlawn Nazarene Church, 730 SW Fairlawn Road, Topeka, KS 66606.

Burial with military honors will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery-Topeka.
