George Kenneth Burghart

George Kenneth Burghart, died on January 3, 2022.

He was born on June 28, 1955, in Topeka, the son of Jacob and Susanna (Puhl) Burghart.

He was in the last graduating class at St. Joseph’s Grade School. He graduated from Hayden High School in 1974.

He worked at Dillons in various positions. He retired from the State of Kansas as a computer operator. During retirement, he enjoyed travelling.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carol Dahlberg; two brothers, John and Jack; nephew, John and a niece, Leslie. He is survived by a sister, Geralyn; nephew, Scott Dahlberg and a niece, Tammie Leadtka.

George will lie in state on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M., with a rosary being held at 10:00 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M., all at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 227 SW Van Buren St., Topeka, KS 66603. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made in George’s memory to Sacred Heart / St. Joseph Parish. Contributions can be left or mailed to the funeral home.
