Gregory Alan Swanson

Gregory Alan Swanson, 62, of Topeka passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday July 16, 2024. 

He was born February 20, 1962, in Topeka, Kansas to Dean L. Swanson and Wanda (Jones) Swanson. He was a graduate of Highland Park High School and received a certification from Kaw Area Vocational Technical School in Radio-TV. 

He was employed for many years at 7-up and Pepsi Bottling Companies as a Service Technician, then Service Manager. On August 25, 1984 Greg married Suzy (Foster), she survives.

Greg was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan, he enjoyed fishing, working with electronics and anything else he could get his hands on. He had a great sense of humor, which he had to develop as he was the only boy in the middle of four sisters, two older and two younger. Greg was a lucky girl dad, taught them how to work on cars, fix things around the house, he loved being their handyman. He was a devoted father also helping anyone else out in need. Most importantly taking care of his daughters. He is survived by his daughters Anna Swanson of Topeka, Megan Swanson of Topeka, Brittney Phannix (Alfred) of Topeka; grandchildren Xavi’Arrah Sims of Topeka, Xa’Vion Sims of Topeka; Sisters Tammy Beaver(Kenneth), Debby Grittman (Kenneth), Tresa McDysan, Darca Millard (Emmett); Father Dean L Swanson and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother Wanda (Jones) Swanson and granddaughter Xavi’Onna Sims. 

A visitation with the family will be held from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, Tuesday, July 23. Funeral services will be 10:00am, Wednesday, July 24, at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home. Inurnment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
