Guadalupe Caballero

Guadalupe “Terry” Caballero, age 95, passed away at Aldersgate Village on Thursday, November 9, 2023.

She was born the daughter of Felipe and Lorenza (Salinas) Muñoz on November 27, 1927, in Topeka, KS.

Terry married Thomas F. Caballero on July 3, 1957, in Topeka. Together, they shared 63 years of marriage until Tom’s passing on January 1, 2021.

She had worked and retired as a Supervisor at Seymour Foods.

Terry was a past member of Community Church. She attended Light of the World Christian Center Bible School for two years and graduated in 1996.

Terry’s love of Christ was the cornerstone that she built her life on.  Her first mission field started with her family.  She loved her “tribe” and made sure they knew the goodness of the Lord.

She then took every opportunity in her daily life to share her love of Christ and faith with others and made sure everyone knew the gift of salvation.

Her family has the peace and joy believing that she heard the Lord say, “Well done, good and faithful servant!” Matthew 25:23

Survivors include her children, Don Martinez and his wife Sue of Denver, CO, Sandee Martinez of Kansas City, KS, Sonja “Sam” Adams and her husband John of Murfreesboro, TN, and Lynn Munoz-Wilkins and her husband Bryce of Topeka. Other survivors include 12 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Sam Muñoz, Mickey Muñoz, and Richard “Dicky” Muñoz; and a loving extended family that includes numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Terry was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas F. Caballero; son, Richard “Rick” Martinez; sister, Mary Root; and brother, Phillip “Phil” Muñoz.

Visitation with viewing will be on Thursday, November 16, 2023, from 9:00 A.M. until 10:30 A.M., followed by a funeral service at 10:30 A.M., at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
