Harold Thomas Hogan, 71, of Topeka, Kansas, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2024, at Silverado Overland Park Memory Care Community in Overland Park, Kansas.

He was born May 5, 1953, in Washington, Kansas, to Austin James Hogan and Mary Louise (Hoover) Hogan. Harold graduated from Linn High School in 1971 and went on to earn a BSN in nursing and three master’s degrees in nursing.

Harold worked as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.

He enjoyed golfing, hunting, learning about history, and socializing. He especially loved spending time with family and friends, as well as his dogs.

Harold married Therese “Ginger” Luse, on August 1, 1987, in Topeka, Kansas. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include a step son, Christopher Miller (Bobbie) of Topeka; siblings Peggy Boyd of Phoenix, Arizona, Lawrence “Larry” Hogan (longtime girlfriend Sally Sturdevant) of Hendersonville, North Carolina, Robert Hogan (Pamela) of Hendersonville, North Carolina, and Virginia Sekinger (Tom) of Annadale, Virginia; a granddaughter, Aura Mae Mullin of Topeka, Kansas; 8 nieces; 4 nephews; and multiple great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Patricia Klozenbucher, Ruth Marie Hogan, Mary Milks, and James Hogan.

A rosary will be prayed at 6:00pm, with a visitation following until 8:00pm, Wednesday, October 23, at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 11:00am, Thursday, October 24, at St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery in Kimeo, Kansas.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Dementia Society of America, sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Ave. Topeka, KS 66603.
