Ignacio John Zarazua, Jr., AKA, Frog Man, 62, of Topeka, KS died Sunday, December 9, 2018 at the Colmery-O’Neil Veterans Administration Hospital.
Johnny was born May 21, 1956 in Topeka the son of Celia Morales and Ignacio John Zarazua, Sr.
He worked for Goodyear and Dave’s Tire. He most recently loved driving for New Dawn Wellness and Recovery Center transporting patients. He celebrated 22 years of sobriety (9-15-1996), and was an avid KU, Royals and Chiefs fan and had a great love for his pets.
He married Monica Ortiz and they had a daughter, Olivia (Kara) Zarazua. He recently was married to Kathy Mortimer, they all survive. Other survivors include his mother, Celia Cameron, siblings, Diana (Dale) Pennington, Elizabeth (Joe) McCune, all of Topeka, Cynthia (Paul Cebar) Zarazua of Milwaukee, WI, Frank (Laurie) Zarazua of Fayetteville, GA, Richard (Paula) Zarazua of Lawrenceville, GA and Tino (Claudia) Zarazua of Rancho Belago, CA. Four grandchildren, Mason, Myles, Izabella, Nathalie along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces nephews and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his father, Ignacio John Zarazua, Sr. and a brother, Rojelio Zarazua.
His family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. Saturday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where military honors will be provided beginning at 12:00 P.M. Cremation will follow.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Avenue, Topeka, KS 66603.
