Isaac William Brown, age 22, of Topeka, unexpectedly passed away in a tragic automobile accident on Sunday, September 22, 2024, while visiting family in Indiana.
He was born the son of Bryan J. and Anne (Walker) Brown on January 25, 2002, in New Albany, Mississippi.
Isaac loved to play basketball and excelled at it. He also enjoyed fishing and catching turtles and snakes. He had a keen eye for detail and was a fine marksman. Isaac had very fond memories of Opus Dei father-son canoe trips and family vacations. Isaac was often complimented for his kind heart. He loved, and was much loved by, his parents and four siblings.
Survivors include his parents; brother, Ignatius J. (Hannah) Brown and their daughter, Felicity; brother, Gabriel T. Brown (fiancé Grace Williams); sister Elizabeth A. Brown; and a brother, Judah C. Brown. Other survivors include his paternal grandmother, Berenice Brown; paternal uncles, Brett (Kathleen) Brown, Kevin (Tracy) Brown, Keith (Jamie) Brown; maternal grandparents, John and Ruth Walker; maternal aunts and uncles, Lorie (Rick) Worner, John (Mandy) Walker, James (Sandy) Walker, Kathy (George) Werth, Andrew Walker, Mark Walker, Diana Hasty, and Barbara (Jared) Ostermann. Isaac is survived by nearly fifty cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, John R. Brown, a good and Godly man who was active in Isaac's first fifteen years of life. His family's hope, prayer, and reasonable belief is that, through the mercy of our Lord, Isaac and Grandpa Brown will soon experience, together, the beatific vision.
Isaac will lie in state from 5-8:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 6:30 p.m., on Monday, September 30, 2024, at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., on Tuesday, October 1, at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Topeka, KS.
A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m., at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Holton, KS. Isaac is being laid to rest, on land he had deemed beautiful, with three generations of Walkers and Cooneys.
Memorial contributions can be made in Isaac's memory to Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home to help defray funeral and burial expenses. Contributions can be mailed or left with the funeral home.
