Jack R. Bone

Jack R. Bone, age 89, of Topeka, passed away on Friday, December 13, 2019 at the Topeka Presbyterian Manor. He was born in Petty, Texas on October 9, 1930 the son of Oscar and Pauline (Ryan) Bone. Jack served in the United States Army and then transferred to the Army Reserve for a total of eight years in the service. He married Greta Marie Murphy on September 7, 1953 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olpe, KS. Together, they shared 66 years of marriage. He attended and graduated from St. Mary’s College in San Antonio, Texas with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and Marketing. Jack had worked for Phillips Petroleum, Seymour Foods and retired as a Credit Manager for Farmland Industries. He was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church, Lions Club and Kiwanis. He enjoyed horseback riding, team roping, boating, traveling, hunting and fishing. He was an avid guitar player and loved to line dance with his wife, Greta. Above all, Jack enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be dearly missed. Survivors include his beloved wife, Greta M. Bone of Topeka; one son, Rick Bone of Tecumseh; three daughters, Renee Crooker and her husband Rich of Branson, MO, Relynn Reynoso of Topeka, Robin Orton and her husband Rex of Tecumseh; eight grandchildren, Erika Erickson, Joshua Crooker, Courtney Bone, Judson Bone, Kinsley Reynoso, Makenna Orton, Max Orton and Makade Orton; three great-grandchildren, Grayden, Rylan & Annistyn Crooker. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; son, Randall Bone; brother, O.B. Bone and sister, Katherine Pitrolo Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2019 from 9-10:00 A.M., followed by a Parish Rosary at 10:00 A.M. and a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 A.M. all at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 2700 SE Virginia Ave., Topeka, KS 66605. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery-Topeka. Memorial contributions can be made in Jack’s memory to the church and/or Christ the King School.
