James Michael "Mike" Rowe

James Michael “Mike” Rowe, 67, of Junction City, KS, passed away on July 3, 2024, at Stormont Vail Health in Topeka.

Mike was born on November 26, 1956, on a military base in Morocco, Africa, to Bert C. Rowe and Patricia (Seaton) Rowe. He attended schools in Virginia Beach, VA, and later attended college at Central Texas College in Killeen, TX.

He served in the United States Army as a helicopter mechanic, retiring in 1996. Following his military service, Mike worked in various capacities at Fort Riley, KS. He enjoyed playing video games, socializing, watching movies and hockey, and telling jokes. Known for his ability to strike up a conversation with anyone, Mike never knew a stranger.

In January 1980, he married Jean Marie Schuette in Ft. Hood, Texas. She passed away in September 2016.

Survivors include his children: Melissa Parker and her husband David of Manhattan, Jennifer Rowe of Junction City, and Jonathan Rowe and his wife Michelle of Junction City; grandchildren: Lillian Rowe, Alexis Littlefield, Alicia Parker, Derrick Parker, and Jordan Parker; great-grandson Amarion Parker; and siblings: Dan Rowe of Pennsylvania, Cindy Rowe of Pennsylvania, and Becky Rowe of Maine. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Jean Rowe.

A celebration of Mike's life will be held on August 17th, 2024, at 10 a.m., at his daughter’s home in Manhattan, Kansas. Please call 785-223-1964 for further details.
