Joan A. Barriere

Joan A. Barriere, 74, of Topeka, KS died Sunday, October 11, 2020.

She was born September 9, 1946 in Hartford City, IN the daughter of Alvin and Donagene (Zimmerman) Bell, Sr. 

Joan retired in January of 2020 from Security Benefit Life Insurance Company where she worked in Data Entry.

She married Edward Barriere on May 19, 1998 in Maryland.  He survives.  She is also survived by her children, Fred (Kristen) Atwater of Henderson, NV, Michelle (Dave) Goldman of Aquilla, TX, and James (Marissa) Atwater of Phoenix, AZ, along with eight grandchildren.  Five siblings, Alvin (Shirley) Bell of Soldier, Ks., Jeff Bell of Topeka, Karl Bell of Columbus, Mississippi, Kathy (Lou) Hurla of Topeka, Frank (Teresa) Bell of Topeka also survive.

Joan was cremated.  A memorial visitation will be held at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Friday, October 16^th, from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. with a memorial service to begin at 11:00 a.m.  Inurnment will follow at the Holton Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the American Cancer Society or the Baldwin Health and Rehabilitation Center sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6^th Ave., Topeka, Ks. 66603.
