JoAnne Marie Miller, 68 of Topeka, passed away unexpectedly Monday November 14, 2022.
She was born October 20, 1954, in Topeka, the daughter of Charles Miller and Ethel (Seematter) Miller.
JoAnne graduated from Highland Park High School in 1972, and went on to have numerous jobs. She went to work at ITC Great Plains 15 years ago, she enjoyed her work and met some really incredible friends along the way. She retired in 2021.
Although seemingly quiet, she didn’t have to be the center of attention, but that doesn’t mean she didn’t end up that way. She always had a smile on her face and a gracious way about her. JoAnne was so full of life, her positive attitude was contagious. JoAnne enjoyed numerous hobbies, some of which included live music, gardening :), taking walks, going on motorcycle rides, traveling, also going to the theater. She shared her hobbies with whomever was around, but she enjoyed sharing it with her grandbabies most of all.
JoAnne, had a love for everyone around her, her vision and compassion for her fellow human showed. Her words spoke volumes, she loved completely and she wanted everyone around her to know that. JoAnne loved spending time with her many friends and family, but, Grandma JoJo’s passion was her grandchildren!
She is survived by sons, Austin Munoz (Roni) of Topeka, James Munoz (Buffie) of Topeka; her devoted life partner of over 25 years, Ray Schmid of Topeka; siblings, Janet Diehl of Topeka, Carol McCoy (Jay) of Auburn, Jerry Miller (Peggy) of Reno, NV, Ruth Magathan of Topeka, Ginny McEnany of Topeka, Bob Miller (Debbie) of Topeka; grandchildren, Zachary Kelly (Rian), Tristan Damme, Madison Munoz, Dejah Miller, Kendall Munoz, Shiloh Munoz; and one great granddaughter, Addison Kelly; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
JoAnne was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Mary Lou Miller.
A memorial visitation will be 4:00pm-7:00pm, Friday, December 2nd at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Ave. Topeka, KS 66603.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the charity of the donor’s choice.
